The Indonesian government has launched a golden visa scheme in an effort to attract more international investors.
The initiative is open to both individual and institutional investors. For a minimum investment in domestic funds or businesses, the recipients of the visas will be granted prolonged stays in Indonesia and greater ease when it comes to leaving or entering the country.
According to the rules of the scheme, individuals must invest a minimum of US$2.5 million for a five-year permit and $5 million for a 10-year permit.
For corporate or institutional investors, five or 10-year permits can be obtained for $25 million and $50 million, respectively. Overseas investors who do not intend to set up a company in Indonesia can obtain permits for the same duration for a minimum investment of $350,000 and $700,000 respectively.
