Hong Kong-based digital asset manager HashKey Capital has launched its first secondary crypto market fund.
The fund will invest mainly in second-tier cryptocurrencies, or so-called altcoins, with the aim of outperforming more popular crypto classes.
According to portfolio manager Jupiter Zheng, less than 50% of the fund will invest in the two biggest cryptocurrencies – Bitcoin and Ethereum.
HashKey is hoping to raise US$100 million for the fund over the next 12 months.
The fund launch comes in the same week that the firm launched what it claims is Hong Kong’s first retail virtual assets trading platform, HashKey Exchange.
