Prudential's new Asian chief assumes role

Handshake_3Nic Nicandrou has taken on the role of chief executive of the Asian business of UK-based insurer Prudential. Based in Hong Kong, Nicandrou oversees an insurance and asset management operation spanning 14 markets. He is the former chief financial officer of the Prudential group. “Asia’s increasingly affluent population has a strong and growing demand for savings and protection products,” he said. “We have been in Asia for more than 90 years, and we are committed to helping individuals and families build better lives and stronger communities, as well as contributing to the economic development of the markets in which we operate.” Before joining Prudential in 2009, Nicandrou worked at Aviva. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Nicandrou replaces Tony Wilkey, who has left the company. ©2017 funds global asia
