Matthews launches Asia ETFs

ETF blocksAsset manager Matthews Asia is expanding its ETF portfolio with a trio of fund launches. The three ETFs will be focused on China, Asia and emerging markets and will be trading in New York this week. The Matthews Emerging Markets Equity Active ETF, Matthews Asia Innovators Active ETF and Matthews China Active ETF will all be actively managed and have expense ratios of 0.79%. The fund launches come on the back of some senior appointments within Matthews’ ETF team, including the arrival of former Wisdom Tree director Michael Barrer as head of ETF capital markets earlier this year. “We continue to believe in the long-term benefits of actively managed portfolios, particularly when they are focused on less efficient markets in Asia and China,” said Robert Horrocks, chief investment officer of Matthews Asia. © 2022 funds global asia
