Matthews Asia launches sustainable article 9 fund

ESG investingUS-based fund manager Matthews has become the latest firm to launch a sustainable fund in the Asian market. The Matthews Asia Sustainable Future Fund is classified as an article 9 fund under the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). The fund has a dedicated allocation to Asia which Matthews Asia sees as “the epicentre of many global sustainability challenges and solutions”, such as climate change, poverty alleviation, access to affordable health care and housing, and financial inclusion. The launch of the article 9 fund comes just days after abrdn reclassified its flagship Asia Pacific Equity fund to an article 8 fund under the SFDR.   © 2022 funds global asia
