HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM) has launched a multi-asset fund designed to capitalise on the growing interest in ESG among Asian investors.
The global sustainable multi-asset income fund will be available to Hong Kong retail investors initially.
According to a statement, the fund is part of the firm’s “stepped-up effort in shaping the market for sustainable investing”.
The fund is managed by Jimmy Choong, associate director, Hong Kong asset and wealth for HSBC AM.
“We believe the intersection of sustainability and income potential is a space with considerable opportunities,” said Choong.
Global ESG assets are expected to reach US$53 trillion by 2025 and, according to HSBC AM, there is “a strong appetite among investors in Asia who have shifted their focus to investing in sustainable assets amidst the pandemic worries”.
