Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has launched four investment funds in Singapore aimed at retail investors after receiving the green light from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Previously, the funds, which include fundamental equities and alternatives, were only available to private banking and institutional investors in the city-state, GSAM said in a statement. They are:
- Goldman Sachs Emerging Markets Equity ESG Portfolio
- Goldman Sachs Global Millennials Equity Portfolio
- Goldman Sachs Global Real Estate Equity Portfolio
- Goldman Sachs Absolute Return Tracker Portfolio
The funds give investors access to thematic equity and alternatives, providing them with “diversification benefits amidst global market volatility and changing investment trends,” according to Jessica Jones, head of the retail client business in Asia Pacific ex-Japan at GSAM.
Millennials as a rising consumer was also marked out as a global megatrend by GSAM, who said that targeting the habits and rising wealth of this generation can generate “superior long-term returns”.
