BNP Paribas AM appoints Singapore CEO

SingaporeFrench fund manager BNP Paribas Asset Management has named Angelia Chin-Sharpe as chief executive officer for its Singapore business. She succeeds Christian Bucaro, who has left the BNP Paribas group. Chin-Sharpe will be based in Singapore, reporting to head of global client group and Asia Pacific chief executive Stephen Billiet. It is a promotion for Chin-Sharpe who joined BNPP AM in 2007 as country head and CEO for Malaysia and Brunei. She also relocated to Singapore between 2010 and 2012 as head of Southeast Asia institutional sales before returning to Malaysia as CEO of the domestic business. According to Billiet, the appointment “aligns with the firm’s plans to strengthen our sustainability capabilities” and to accelerate the development of its thematic investment offerings. © 2022 funds global asia
