BNP Paribas AM appoints country head for Malaysia

Malaysia, abrdn,French firm BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has named Daniel Choong as chief executive of its Malaysia business. Pending regulatory approval, Choong will replace Angelia Chin-Sharpe, who has relocated to Singapore following her appointment as Singapore CEO. Choong will be based in Kuala Lumpur, reporting to his predecessor Chin-Sharpe. He will be responsible for leading the asset manager’s local business operations and also promoting its various sustainable investment products in the country. Choong joins from abrdn, where he was most recently managing director and head of distribution for its Malaysia business. © 2023 funds global asia
