abrdn bolsters Asian distribution team

distribuition, asian, asiaGlobal fund manager abrdn has hired Tina Tong to the newly-created position of head of wholesale distribution, Hong Kong. Reporting to David Hanzl, head of wholesale, Asia Pacific, she will be responsible for strengthening the firm’s relationship with key intermediary distributors. Tong joins from Matthews Asia, where she was vice president for distribution. Prior to that, she was director of business development at Peak Capital. The appointment comes on the back of abrdn's efforts to increase its focus on sustainable funds within the Asian market, including the recent conversions of Asian funds into article 8 funds under the EU's sustainable funds disclosure regulation. According to Hanzl, the strengthening of abrdn’s wholesale distribution capability in the region will enable the firm to “tap into investors’ appetite for sustainable Asia and China investments as well as income-generating products”. © 2023 funds global asia
