State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has appointed Meaghan Victor as head of SPDR ETF Asia Pacific distribution.
The move reflects the “growing demand” for ETFs in Asia Pacific, SSGA said in a statement. Victor, who joined State Street in 2017, was previously the head of SPDR ETFs for Australia and Singapore and her scope now extends to Hong Kong and Japan in her new role.
Victor will continue to be based in Sydney and reports to Rory Tobin, head of global SPDR ETF business. Her appointment is effective immediately.
ETFs have experienced strong growth in Hong Kong and Japan in comparison to the rest of the region.
“Institutional investors in Hong Kong and Japan are particularly drawn to ETFs to help them manage risk and provide liquidity to their holdings,” said Tobin.
