Northern Trust names Apac head

Asia Pacific globeNorthern Trust has appointed Angelo Calvitto to lead its asset servicing business in the Asia Pacific region. He replaces William Mak who is retiring after 11 years with Northern Trust. During his tenure, Mak oversaw the firm’s expansion in the region. It now has 11 offices across Asia Pacific. Calvitto will be based in Australia and will be charged with the responsibility for growing Northern Trust’s institutional client base in the region. He joined the company in 2008. His experience includes stints at ANZ Custodian Services and State Street. “The Asia-Pacific region is a leading centre for technology innovation, with Singapore as a key hub, particularly for our blockchain initiatives,” said Peter Cherecwich, president of corporate and institutional services at Northern Trust. “More broadly, we continue to see significant demand for our entire range of asset servicing solutions across the region,” added Cherecwich. © 2021 funds global asia
