Maybank to distribute T Rowe Price’s China fund in Malaysia

Malaysian flagsUS-based asset manager T Rowe Price has partnered with Maybank, the asset management arm of Malayan Banking Berhad, to distribute its China-focused equity fund in Malaysia. The T Rowe Price China Evolution Equity Strategy fund aims to focus on “undiscovered” Chinese stocks. The fund launched in August 2020 and is managed by Hong Kong-based portfolio manager Wenli Zheng. Benchmarked against the MSCI China All Shares Index, the fund has generated a cumulative return of 16.8% since launch. It will be distributed to private wealth investors in Malaysia. According to T Rowe Price head of distribution Elsie Chan, China’s equity market is a “fertile hunting ground for investors seeking sustainable businesses and potential excess return opportunity through bottom-up fundamental research”. ©2022 funds global asia
