Asset manager DWS Group has hired Clarence Ng as chief financial officer of its alternatives business in the Asia-Pacific.
Based in Shanghai, Ng will also take on the position of chief operating officer for the DWS business in China. Both are newly created roles.
“The skills and experience that Clarence brings to the platform will play a critical role in shaping the strategy and future growth of our alternatives business in the Asia Pacific,” said Victoria Sharpe, head of alternatives, Asia Pacific.
Ng joins from Deutsche Bank (China), where he served as global markets finance director. Deutsche Bank is the majority shareholder of DWS Group, which was formerly named Deutsche Asset Management.
Ng is a chartered accountant of Singapore and a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants from the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
